Topanga Canyon [LP]

Foot Ox - Topanga Canyon [LP]

Topanga Canyon began when Foot Ox songwriter Teague Cullen was invited to spend a week recording at the canyon home Germaine Dunes shares with Buck Meek. Cullen wrote the album in a single spring and cut it mostly live with members of Kisser, AJJ, Pigeon Pit, iji and Lake, plus Foot Ox's Oregon lineup.

Engineered by Dunes and Carly Bond across the house and its front porch, the recordings let birds, airplanes, wind and conversation drift into the songs. The result is a warm, collaborative document of one place and one group of friends.

Foot Ox is an experimental folk band from Portland, Oregon, formed in 2007, whose dreamlike songs move through love, grief, humor and hope.
