The Fire Sermon - Norse Saga [CD]

Ellisiv Tandberg – The Fire Sermon - Norse Saga [CD]

Norwegian pianist Ellisiv Tandberg's debut album grew out of her fascination with Nordic music, bringing together Norwegian and Finnish works, some she has loved since childhood and others discovered along the way. Its starting point is Einojuhani Rautavaara's Piano Sonata No. 2, The Fire Sermon, with its dramatic intensity and mysterious, searching atmosphere.

The Norse Saga title reflects the myths, landscapes and spirit running through the program, which includes a new work by Marcus Paus written for Tandberg and inspired by Norwegian paintings. On CD from Proprius.

Genre: Classical, Contemporary Classical, Piano.
