Silfra [2LP]

Paul Dunlea & Trevor Mires - Silfra [2LP]

Silfra brings together trombonists Paul Dunlea and Trevor Mires for a rare double-trombone project on Whirlwind Recordings, the London label celebrated for adventurous modern jazz. Named after the glacial rift in Iceland where two continental plates meet, the record plays the two horns off each other with warmth, wit and plenty of contrapuntal interplay, as heard on the standout 'Cypher Nutria'.

This release is spread across two LPs, giving the arrangements room to breathe on vinyl.
