Salt Sea Atlas [LP]

Kathrine Windfeld - Salt Sea Atlas [LP]

Danish pianist, composer and bandleader Kathrine Windfeld built Salt Sea Atlas around contrasts of light and darkness, movement and stillness. Lineups shift from quintet and septet to an 11-piece ensemble and a 17-piece big band, taking in the hometown harbor portrait 'Svendborg Silhouette', the tight saxophone groove of 'Going Feral' and the three-part big band suite 'Immortal Horseman'.

Recorded in two focused days at The Village Recording in Copenhagen and released on vinyl LP by Stunt Records, Denmark's leading jazz label.
