Ryusuifudou [CD]

Fumio Miyashita - Ryusuifudou [CD]

Ryusuifudou collects previously unreleased ambient recordings that Fumio Miyashita made around 1978 to 1982 in his home studio in Hollywood. He had moved to the US from Japan with his space-rock group Far East Family Band, and recorded these pieces alone at night as music to meditate to.

He blended analog synthesizers with flute, santoor and field recordings of nature he had captured in Japan. He handed the tape out to friends, and when two acupuncturists began using it in their sessions, it set him on the path to the healing music of his later career. The two long pieces, "Ten" and "Ryusuifudou", bridge those two eras. This is the first release on The Incessant Noise, distributed by Light In The Attic.

The CD comes in a mini-LP style tip-on jacket with a Risograph-printed cover, matching the vinyl.
