The Rope (40th Anniversary Edition) [Blue Splatter 2LP]

Black Tape for a Blue Girl – The Rope (40th Anniversary Edition) [Blue Splatter 2LP]

The Rope, Black Tape for a Blue Girl's 1986 debut, launched Sam Rosenthal's long career and the Projekt sound. Rosenthal's electronics and raw, heartbroken lyrics meet Oscar Herrera's dramatic vocals over warm ambient passages, a mix that drew comparisons to 4AD and Factory and later earned a place in Uncut's list of the 200 greatest goth albums.

This 40th anniversary 2LP is strictly limited to 300 copies on 140-gram vinyl: LP1 holds the original mix, remastered, on baby blue with black splatter, and LP2 a new 2026 mix on transparent blue with white splatter. It comes in a thick jacket signed by Sam, with an 8-page insert and a sticker.
