Flanders Recorder Duo – Rituals - Music for 2 Recorders & Piano [CD]

German composer Sören Sieg steers clear of the usual avant-garde paths, writing fully tonal, rhythmically fresh music often inspired by African culture, and the recorder family almost always takes the lead. The Flanders Recorder Duo devotes this whole album to his work.

Sieg himself joins them at the piano, and every piece is a world premiere recording in this form. A bright, accessible program for recorder fans and anyone curious about contemporary chamber music that puts melody and rhythm first. On CD from Aeolus.

Genre: Chamber Music, Classical, Contemporary Classical.
