Red Sky [LP]

Amos Hoffman & Noam Lemish - Red Sky [LP]

Red Sky reunites guitarist and oud player Amos Hoffman with pianist Noam Lemish, following their well-received first duo album, Pardes. The pair fold Middle Eastern and Jewish melodies into a jazz setting, mixing fresh originals with reworked Israeli, Moroccan and Arabic classical pieces carried by oud, piano and a light, rolling groove. The mood is joyful with a thread of melancholy running underneath.

Pressed on black vinyl by Jojo Records, a warm late-evening listen for fans of jazz that crosses borders.
