Chicago Funk Band - No Communication [7" Single]

Deeply rooted straight from The Windy City, the Chicago Funk Band unite and ignite to shed light on a rare groove, cult classic 7" 45. Originally released in 1977 on the obscure North Carolinian label Witch's Brew. "No Communication" by True Transfusion A.K.A. Human Blood had long gone unknown until recently as it snuck its way into rotation as a still relatively obscure grail amongst heavy collectors and selectors in the global underground funk and disco circles, gaining additional light as part of The Numero Group's "Eccentric Soul: The Linco Label" compilation. In 2024, during a regular trip to Tone B. Nimble's shop in Flossmoor, Tone treated TZ's ears to a fresh & punched up version of the now familiar tune, leading to his introduction to the Soulistic360 Crew and their monster cover. Soulistic label head Arnell Newman, alongside Chicago Funk Band members Ainsley Strong and Eric Johnson, tapped in Tina Howell for vocals, Todd Swope on bass, and underground favorite Spike Rebel for further production duties. The project was crowned to completion by Chicago royalty Rahaan, who lent his talents on the arrangement and mixdown. With a nice edit of the OG on the flip and this heavy cover version right up top, this old-meets-new record is a surefire crate-staple floor-fillin party record that won't be leaving the bag anytime soon!
