Munki [2LP]

The Jesus and Mary Chain - Munki [2LP]

Munki is the sixth studio album by The Jesus and Mary Chain, first issued in 1998 on Creation and Sub Pop. It turned out to be the Reid brothers' final album before the band split, and it ranges across everything they had done to that point, from noise to melody.

The 17-track record opens with Jim Reid's 'I Love Rock 'N' Roll' and closes with William's 'I Hate Rock 'N' Roll', taking in the abrasive 'Cracking Up' and 'Degenerate', the fuzz-pop of 'Fizzy' and the acoustic 'Never Understood'. Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star duets on 'Perfume', and the brothers' sister Linda Reid sings on 'Moe Tucker'.

This 25th-anniversary Fuzz Club reissue is a gatefold double LP, remastered for vinyl by Pete Maher, available on black or blue and red vinyl.
