Tordenskjolds Soldater - More Peace [LP]

Tordenskjolds Soldater were a Copenhagen quartet of saxophonist Jesper Nehammer, pianist-composer Ole Matthiessen, bassist Henrik Hove and drummer Jon Finsen, regulars of the late-'60s scene who took their name, half in jest, from the familiar faces seen weekend after weekend. More Peace captures them live at Jazzhus Montmartre in April 1970, just before they recorded Peace for Spectator Records, stretching all four Matthiessen pieces, including tributes to Yusef Lateef and Pharoah Sanders, far beyond their studio lengths.

Matthiessen oversaw the restoration of the original Montmartre tapes, recorded by drummer Ole Streenberg, and handled the remastering himself. This is the group's second LP on Formalibera.
