Danny Elfman - Mission: Impossible (Score) [Transparent Blue Vinyl 30th Anniversary 2LP]
After a successful Record Store Day exclusive in 2026, Decca presents a new transparent blue colored 2LP of this iconic soundtrack, marking the 30th anniversary of Danny Elfman’s score to the 1996 blockbuster movie, Mission: Impossible. It features the instantly recognizable Mission: Impossible theme, originally composed by Lalo Schifrin for the 1960s TV series, and rearranged by Elfman for the first movie in the Tom Cruise action franchise. The theme is known for its suspense-filled rhythm with an unusual 5/4 time signature, and the famous four-note motif that opens the piece: a musical nod to the Morse Code pattern for the letters M.I. (‐‐ ··). This clever encoding not only ties the theme directly to the title but also reinforces the atmosphere of secret communications, covert operations, and puzzles that define the world of Mission: Impossible.Release Date: October 30, 2026
