Iona [2LP]

Iona - Iona [2LP]

Newly remastered from the original master tapes for its first-ever vinyl release, Iona's 1990 debut includes seven bonus tracks, new artwork and a 2-disc gatefold sleeve. Iona is a progressive Celtic rock band from the UK, formed in the late 1980s by vocalist Joanne Hogg and multi-instrumentalists David Fitzgerald and Dave Bainbridge.

The album draws inspiration from the story of Columba, an Irish monk who set sail in 563 AD into exile and landed on the small island of Iona off the west coast of Scotland, where he established a place of prayer and learning. It seeks to capture in words and music the landscapes and atmosphere of Iona and her sister isle Lindisfarne, blending Celtic, classical, rock, jazz and folk influences.
