In Light of a New Moon [LP]

Asaf Yuria - In Light of a New Moon [LP]

New York tenor saxophonist Asaf Yuria heads back to the Van Gelder Studio for In Light of a New Moon, a hard bop session with his former teachers George Cables (piano) and Billy Hart (drums), bassist Omer Avital, and trumpeter Joe Magnarelli guesting on two tracks. The program leans on interpretations, from John Hicks' 'After the Morning' and Hank Mobley's 'Hipsippy Blues' to Dizzy Gillespie's 'Con Alma'.

Pressed on heavyweight 180-gram vinyl LP, with Yuria's explosive original 'Praise of Shadows' among the highlights.
