Ilan Rogoff Rediscovered [CD]

Ilan Rogoff – Ilan Rogoff Rediscovered [CD]

In 1978 pianist Ilan Rogoff made two visits to the Nimbus studio in Monmouth, at a time when the label was experimenting with 'direct-to-disc' recording, which demanded a flawless, unbroken performance lasting a whole LP side. Rogoff had the nerve and technique for it, and all three works here were played under those conditions.

The fragile master platters didn't survive, but back-up tapes did. Schumann and Schubert works return alongside Brahms Intermezzi heard for the first time, in complete, unedited takes. Single CD.

Genre: Classical, Piano, Romantic.
