Bragolin is the dark wave project of Utrecht's Edwin van der Velde, and I Saw Nothing Good So I Left is the 2018 debut that put it on the map. Baritone guitars, drum machines, synths and deep vocals draw on 1980s post-punk and gothic rock, with shoegaze haze and a horror-film sense of dread. Opener "Into Those Woods" has become a modern dark wave club staple, and the record closes on the long, brooding "Charcoal Teeth and Lies."
