Erotica 70 [LP]

Larry Manteca - Erotica 70 [LP]

Jazz flutes, analog synths, funk grooves, exotica and sultry Italian-style vocals: Erotica 70 is the new album from Milanese collective Larry Manteca, known for playful reimaginings of classic Italian soundtrack sounds.

This time they take on the 1970s commedia sexy films, celebrating composer Piero Umiliani in his centenary year. Vintage gear like the Eminent synth and Wurlitzer electric piano recreates that era's mix of jazz, groove and electronics. Standout Lando nods to actor Lando Buzzanca, star of many Umiliani-scored comedies.

Recorded across Northern Italy, it plays like the soundtrack to a long-lost '70s film, vivid and fresh.
