Dotanba [Orange Vinyl]

Mitsune - Dotanba [Orange Vinyl]

Mitsune is a Berlin-based Japanese folk fusion quartet: two shamisen players who also sing, plus contrabass and percussion. Dotanba, released on Peter Gabriel's Real World Records, plays as one continuous concept piece in seven movements.

The music grows out of Tsugaru shamisen roots and pulls in Khaleeji rhythms, Indian raga, prog, jazz and cinematic textures. It was recorded live to tape at Brewery Studios in Berlin, and its themes are human existence, nature and impermanence.

This edition is pressed on orange vinyl.
