Cocoon [Colored Vinyl]

Morphine - Cocoon [Colored Vinyl]

Boston trio Morphine sounded like no one else at the height of grunge. Their "low rock" was built on Mark Sandman's two-string slide bass and voice, Dana Colley's baritone and tenor sax and stripped-back drums. Their story ended in 1999 when Sandman died on stage in Italy.

More than 25 years later, Cocoon offers a final chapter: eight songs from the band's late-'90s sessions that Sandman shelved on the way to their last album. Rediscovered in the archives and assembled by producer Paul Q. Kolderie (Radiohead, Pixies), with new sax parts from Colley, it plays as a fully realized Morphine album.

This edition is pressed on limited colored vinyl.
