Suzanne Vega - Close up Vol 3 States of Be [CD]

Close-Up Vol. 3, States of Being is the third instalment of Suzanne Vega's Close-Up series, released in 2011. The Close-Up series, begun in 2010, saw Suzanne Vega re-record songs from her back catalogue in intimate, stripped-back arrangements and regroup them by theme across four albums, so listeners could hear them away from their original productions.

This volume revisits her most haunting songs, which she once called her 'mental health songs', such as 'Penitent' and 'Cracking'. The new acoustic recordings feature string quartet Brooklyn Rider and include a previously unreleased song co-written with Duncan Sheik for her play about Carson McCullers. This edition is a CD in a digipak.
