Originally released on May 28, 2024 as a digital-only single on the heels of a viral short-form video Obed posted on Instagram. With Darondo’s “Didn’t I” as the foundation and his seemingly effortless delivery and swagger, the song took on a life of its own and warranted a full-length production and release.In his own words; “I've always loved Darondo. "Didn't I" is one of those records I'd just put on and sit with, and one day I sampled it and started rapping over it with no real plan. Chicano Poetry wasn't even a full song when I put the video out — it was a loop and a verse. Then it went viral and it had to become a real record. I got in the studio with Supah Mario and Kareem James and we built the whole thing out from there. Darondo is the GOAT though.
