Carter Burwell's intimate Academy Award-nominated score for the Todd Haynes 2015 romantic drama film Carol, makes its 12" vinyl debut. Reflecting the film's 1950s setting, Burwell's score brings together the main elements of the movie using a jazz-influenced chamber ensemble. Starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, Carol is the story of a forbidden affair between an aspiring photographer and older woman going through a divorce. The soundtrack also contains songs from the film, including "Easy Living" by Billie Holiday, which is prominent in the film as Carol receives the record as a gift and plays it multiple times.
