Dam Swindle - Call Me EP [12"]

Dam Swindle explore warm, soulful house on their Call Me EP, featuring vocals from Surya Sen.

The title track "Call Me" is a stabby and string-heavy peak time jam, where chopped female vocals and offbeat cowbells deliver a simply irresistible groove. "5 to 9" features the vocals of London rapper Surya Sen whose deep voice add an instant vibe to Dam Swindle's deep and Detroit'esque production. This track sits somewhere between gritty dark rooms and sweaty dancefloors. Definitely not the stuff for your 9 to 5, but with plenty of funk for your after-work pleasures. The track comes in two versions; the vocal mix and a longer club-dub with some cleverly chopped vocals that comes in handy for the DJ sets. The B1 is saved for "I Like It". A track full of old school Swindle swing, Rhodes chords, a dash of electronics and soulful vocals chops for good measure. The EP closer is "A House Track"; a song dedicated to the old school New York house sound and an affirmation that great house music doesn't have to be complicated. It just needs to groove. This one has been road-tested all year and is ready for your listening and playing pleasure. A1. Call Me A2. 5 to 9 (Feat. Surya Sen) B1. I Like It B2. A House Track B3. 5 to 9 (Feat.
