Ballad of The Broken Seas [CD]

Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan - Ballad of The Broken Seas [CD]

Ballad of the Broken Seas is the 2006 debut collaboration between Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan, the first of three albums the pair made together before Sunday at Devil Dirt (2008) and Hawk (2010). Steeped in folk and Americana, it sets Campbell's breathy vocals against Lanegan's deep baritone, a pairing often compared to Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood.

The album was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. Its twelve tracks run from opener 'Deus Ibi Est' through 'The False Husband', 'Revolver', 'Honey Child What Can I Do?' and the title track. This Cooking Vinyl reissue comes on CD in a softpak sleeve.
