Celebrating innovative Mexican musicians who merged electronic and indigenous instruments with minimalism, ambient, jazz and new age aesthetics, A La Altura: Visionary Mexican Music 1977-1999 features 12 visionary artists including Luis Pérez, Arturo Meza, Jorge Reyes, Aristeo, and Tribu, amongst others. Compiled and produced by Mexican journalist, musician and DJ Carlos "Tropicaza" Icaza and dublab radio founder and LA Phil Creative Producer Mark "Frosty" McNeill, this collection draws from the deep well of Mexican experimental music that flourished from the 1970s through the 1990s, blending classical minimalism, ambient, new age, free improv, and electro-acoustic composition with Pre-Colombian instrumentation.

Double LP pressed at Optimal, includes a 12-page booklet featuring liner notes by Carlos Icaza and rare, unseen photos. Cover art by legendary artist Eduardo Terrazas. Audio remastered by GRAMMY-nominated engineer John Baldwin.
