A Jamarican in Paris [LP]

Monty Alexander - A Jamarican in Paris [LP]

Monty Alexander made A Jamarican in Paris at Studio Sextan with perhaps his most intimate trio yet, drummer Jason Brown and bassist Luke Sellick, plus longtime collaborator Bobby Thomas Jr. on percussion. Seated close together, with no cues and no words, the quartet draws on Alexander's deep well of blues, gospel, bebop, calypso and reggae, from 'Marcus Garvey' and 'Skamento' to 'You Make Me Feel Brand New' and 'Come Fly With Me'.

A joyful meeting of jazz tradition and Caribbean roots from the Jamaican-born piano great, released by French label RogueArt and pressed on black vinyl as a single LP.
