Captured at the First Avenue Club in their hometown of Minneapolis on 28th August 1985, The Miracle Year sources the authentic live tapes of that fateful evening where the psychedelic, boundary-smashing punk trio Husker Du laid down one of their most legendary sets. Performing just two weeks on from the release of their seminal fourth album New Day Rising, the setlist includes tracks from preceding records such as Everything Falls Apart and Zen Arcade, whilst featuring five at the time new cuts which would eventually appear later in the year on Flip Your Wig; serving as true testament to the band's ludicrously prolific nature. Several nods are also made to their dynamic array of influences with head-melting renditions of The Byrds' 'Eight Miles High,' The Beatles' 'Helter Skelter' (featuring Soul Asylum's Dave Pirner), and 'Ticket To Ride', while closing with their signature cover of Sonny Curtis's Mary Tyler Moore theme 'Love Is All Around.' If that wasn't enough, this quadruple vinyl 1985 time capsule also features 20 extra live tracks from the year's touring schedule, as well as a deluxe 36-page booklet detailing arguably the most integral 12 months in the history of Husker Du.
