Ryuichi Sakamoto, who passed away on March 28, 2023, left behind a profound legacy. This release features 20 carefully selected tracks, including the iconic “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence,” “Tong Poo” from the Yellow Magic Orchestra era—performed as a solo piano piece for the first time—and a piece from his final album, 12. The project was realized by Sakamoto's trusted team, including director Neo Sora, cinematographer Bill Kirstein, recording engineer ZAK, editor Takuya Kawakami, and lighting designer Yukiko Yoshimoto. The resulting film has been showcased at prestigious events like the Venice International Film Festival, the New York Film Festival, and the Tokyo International Film Festival. In Korea, it garnered significant attention, drawing 40,000 attendees within just 10 days of its release.
