The Dogs of Hope is a collaborative album, featuring many different bands from Iodine Recordings, to raise money and awareness for Randolph County Animal Shelter. THE DOGS OF HOPE/ 100% of net profits from the physical and digital sales of The Dogs of Hope go directly to the Randolph County Animal Shelter in Wedowee, AL. The RCAS is a no-kill, privately-run, underfunded facility in a county of just 22,000 people and no publicly-funded spay/neuter or animal control programs. Every day there is a challenge. While the number of animals adopted from shelters across the U.S. has increased since 2021, the number of animals entering shelters has also increased-leading to longer stays and overcapacity in some shelters. The RCAS has been at full capacity since spring of 2021 and this requires more hands-on than ever. Compilation A&R, co-producer, and designer Tom Bejgrowicz and his wife, Jennifer, began volunteering for the RCAS in August 2020 after moving nearby. He began raising funds for the shelter via self-published Fugazi and In Solitude zines in 2022, raising $4,000 that went to overhaul and update the shelter's cat room. When talking with Iodine's Casey Horrigan, Tom mentioned how he had his sights set on raising funds for the dogs next. Casey suggested doing a benefit compilation and it's been in the works ever since. ''What I've learned in my years of volunteering is that we don't have to change the entire world to make a difference, we can change the world one animal at a time,'' says Bejgrowicz. Adding, ''We love the animals we care for at the shelter. It's bittersweet to say goodbye when the dogs are adopted but that's our goal and The Dogs of Hope is a key step toward serving the shelter's dogs in a greater capacity than ever before.''
