Cornetist Don Cherry first rose to prominence as part of the revolutionary Ornette Coleman Quartet in 1959, but it wasn't until he signed with Blue Note in 1965 that he began his leader career with a run of fiery albums including his bold debut, Complete Communion, featuring Gato Barbieri, Henry Grimes and Ed Blackwell.
