Released one year after his 1976 debut "Scenery," Ryo Fukui's second album "Mellow Dream" has also been newly remastered from the original tapes and reissued on SACD-50 years after its initial release.

This recording session spanned two days and featured Fukui's first original compositions, "Mellow Dream" and "Horizon."Among them, "Mellow Dream" remains especially beloved for its lyrical quality that deeply resonates with Japanese sensibilities.

His interpretations of standard numbers like "My Foolish Heart" and "My Funny Valentine" are also exceptional-imbued with emotional depth, breathtaking improvisation, and compelling rhythmic drive.
Though all the musicians on this record have since passed on, the music left behind remains heartbreakingly vivid and full of life.
