The legendary album "Scenery," which cemented Ryo Fukui's global acclaim, has been newly remastered from the original tapes and released as an SACD-exactly 50 years after its recording.

Ryo Fukui first touched the keys at the age of 22 and began studying jazz piano at 23. This album was recorded in September 1976, when he was 27 years old, during an audience-free session at Yamaha Hall in Sapporo. Centered around lyrical renditions of standard ballads like "It Could Happen to You" and "Autumn Leaves," the album also features standout performances such as "Early Summer" by fellow pianist Hideo Ichikawa, a close friend of Fukui's at the time-this very track later sparked the album's reevaluation.

Propelled by a viral surge on YouTube (with 14.04 million views as of July 2025), "Scenery" became a catalyst for renewed international attention on Japanese jazz-a national treasure now rightfully recognized worldwide.
