Two decades since its original release, Robyn's 2005 self-titled album returns as a double reissue, pressed on the newly voguish "coke bottle" clear colour vinyl. Konichiwa Records is the sub-imprint through which it reemerges, naming itself after a bombastic second pop track; this anniversary edition restores the artwork from the long-out-of-print 2005 Record Store Day version, originally capped at just 2000 copies. Made at a turning point in Robyn's career, 'Be Mine!', 'With Every Heartbeat' and 'Konichiwa Bitches' caused a strident, synth-heavy stir, in the bitter wake of her divorce from indie major Jive Records and disillusionment at their attempt to market her as the next Christina Aguilera. Here, she "was doing what she wanted to do".
