Lea Bertucci - The Days Pass Quickly Immersed in the Shadow of Eternity [Transparent Light Blue LP]

New York composer Lea Bertucci, who came out of the city's noise scene before turning to resonance, psychoacoustics and harmonic interplay, wrote this piece for Norbert Rodenkirchen, flutist of early music ensemble Sequentia. Commissioned by ZKM Karlsruhe and recorded there in 2024, it draws on his Renaissance, Medieval and Neolithic flutes. Rodenkirchen's live playing weaves through Bertucci's electronic arrangements of flute samples, from pulsing clusters to fields of sustained tone, with echoes of Medieval polyphony, Sardinian canto a tenore and Buddhist chant.

Mixed to stereo from ZKM's multichannel system, on transparent light blue vinyl in an edition of 300, with new liner notes by Bradford Bailey.
