Cowboy Slim Dortch – Sixteen Miles (Down the Tennessee Road) [10"]

Collectors have long paid serious money for Cowboy Slim Dortch's 'Big Boy Rock', but there was more to the Tennessee musician than one rare single. Bear Family's Sixteen Miles (Down the Tennessee Road) collects all ten of his ultra-rare 1960s country and rockabilly sides, seven of them never reissued before. They were cut in Memphis under producer Style Wooten with players like Roland Janes, Chips Moman and Travis Wammack.

Two recordings tied to his longtime associates Jack and Buddy Keele round out the set. The numbered 10-inch is limited to 500 copies and includes an 8-page booklet.

Genre: Country, Rockabilly, Honky Tonk.
