Ryojiro Furusawa - Racco [LP]
From the 1970s through the 2010s, drummer Ryojiro Furusawa was a force not only in jazz but across the Japanese music scene, with music of unmatched individuality and overwhelming power. Racco is his masterpiece and the most complete representation of his artistry.
Every composition is a Furusawa original, yet each reveals a distinct character: a beautifully crafted ballad, a dynamic burst of funky jazz, a deep modal groove, the gentle warmth of calypso rhythms. Eclectic but never unfocused, it is powerful, exhilarating and refreshing. Pressed on pure, uncolored vinyl.
