Open Sky [Turquoise 2LP]

Iona - Open Sky [Turquoise 2LP]

Open Sky is Iona's 2000 studio album. It finds the Celtic prog group at their most expansive, from the opening "Woven Cord" and the title track to "Castlerigg", "Hinba" and the three-part "Songs of Ascent", balancing Joanne Hogg's vocals with long instrumental passages for pipes, guitars and keyboards.

This limited UK import is pressed on two turquoise vinyl LPs, giving the album's long, atmospheric pieces plenty of room.
