Peter Gabriel - o\i (Dark-Side Mix) [2LP]

o\i is Peter Gabriel's follow-up to his 2023 album i/o. Gabriel calls the songs "a mix of thoughts and feelings" about the future and a coming period of transition driven by AI, quantum computing and the brain-computer interface. In his words: "i/o: the inside has a new way out and o\i: the outside has a new way in."

Gabriel wrote and produced the album and recorded most of it at Real World Studios near Bath, England. Long-time band members Tony Levin, David Rhodes and Manu Katché return, alongside i/o touring players Richard Evans, Josh Shpak and Don E, the New Blood Orchestra, Soweto Gospel Choir and Orphei Drängar. Mike Elizondo co-produces one track. Nadav Kander shot the cover, and each song is paired with a piece of art by artists including Judy Chicago, Tomás Saraceno, Shirin Neshat and Tatsuo Miyajima.

Like i/o, the album comes in two mixes. This is the Dark-Side Mix by Tchad Blake, with Mike Elizondo mixing one track, on 2LP in a gatefold jacket. Choose standard black vinyl or the indie-exclusive neon purple pressing, limited to 2,000 copies.
