Mozart, Haydn, Schubert & Brahms [CD]

Marie-Claude Chappuis – Mozart, Haydn, Schubert & Brahms [CD]

Marie-Claude Chappuis traces the story of the German Lied from Haydn and Mozart through to Schubert and Brahms, showing the continuity running beneath their changing musical languages. Poetry and nature act as a mirror for inner experience throughout, with the recurring image of the moon as a serene symbol of reflection and solitude.

A thoughtfully built song recital on a single CD from the Belgian label Passacaille, for anyone who loves the intimacy of voice and piano.

Genre: Classical, Vocal.
