Milk And Honey [Lavender Marble Vinyl]

Dennis Brown - Milk And Honey [Lavender Marble Vinyl]

The partnership of Dennis Brown and producer Errol "Flabba" Holt continues to pay rich dividends on Milk And Honey, first released in 1996 and recorded at Leggo's Recording Studio in Kingston, Jamaica. Backed by the Roots Radics, with guest appearances from bassist Leroy Sibbles and drummer Sly Dunbar, the Crown Prince of Reggae moves easily between dancehall, lovers rock and smooth roots reggae.

Modern digitized beats sit alongside rich live instrumentation, while the songs reach back to rocksteady-era melodies and classic Studio One rhythms. Highlights include a reggae reading of the Jackson 5's "Never Can Say Goodbye," love songs like "Caress Me Girl" and "Your Love," and the roots-minded "Wisdom." A powerful set with Brown at his very best, pressed here on lavender marble vinyl.
