Uncle Tupelo – March 16-20, 1992 [LP]

Uncle Tupelo's third album set the punk-fired band of Jay Farrar and Jeff Tweedy down in front of acoustic instruments for a record of traditional songs and stripped-back originals, recorded over five days in 1992 with R.E.M.'s Peter Buck producing. Coal-country ballads like "Coalminers", "Satan, Your Kingdom Must Come Down" and "Moonshiner" sit next to Farrar's "Grindstone" and Tweedy's "Black Eye", and the record still sounds like a blueprint for alt-country.

Music On Vinyl presses it on 180-gram black vinyl. A Dutch import.
