Dr. John - Live At The Turning Point [2CD]

A previously unissued solo performance from Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Mac Rebennack, aka Dr. John, recorded on the evening of May 7, 1987. Dr. John changed the course of popular music starting with his 1968 debut Gris Gris, infusing his recordings with new directions and influences while throwing off hits like "Right Place, Wrong Time" and "Such A Night."

The unique set focuses on New Orleans staples by Fats Domino, Lee Dorsey and Professor Longhair alongside Dr. John classics: "Such A Night," "Right Place, Wrong Time," Professor Longhair's "Tipitina," Fats Domino's "Walkin' To New Orleans," Lee Dorsey's "Ya Ya" and even "Iko Iko/Brother John."

Mastering and restoration by multiple Grammy-winning engineer Michael Graves, with new liner notes from The Second Disc's Joe Marchese. Produced in full cooperation with the Dr. John Estate and released for Dr. John's birthday.
