Gilla Band have returned with “Giraffe”, a bold new offering and their first new music in nearly 4 years. Available now digitally and on a highly limited 7” picture disc, the new track sees the hugely original and influential Dublin quartet announcing worldwide 2026 touring, including a fall 2026 North American run. For over ten years now, Gilla Band— vocalist Dara Kiely, guitarist Alan Duggan Borges, bassist Daniel Fox, and drummer Adam Faulkner — have been redefining what could loosely be called “rock music” in the 21st century, influencing a wide swath of similarly forward-thinking guitar acts along the way. The band have perfected a vision that isn’t quite post-punk, noise-rock or anything else besides an idiosyncratic, ground-breaking hybrid that could only come from the four of them. On ‘Giraffe’, frontman Dara Kiely lets the listener into his head. “It can be a very scattered and sometimes lonely place. Feeling unloved and finding it difficult to articulate what I’m actually thinking,” he explains, continuing “The song’s outro indirectly details a kind of confirmation that affection toward me does exist. While I appreciate it, I still find that hard to believe.”
