Fred M. Wilcox - Forbidden Planet [4K UHD + Blu-ray]

One of the all-time great science fiction films, now in its first-ever 4K presentation in original CinemaScope. In the 23rd century, a United Planets starship is sent to the distant world of Altair IV to learn the fate of an earlier expedition. Ignoring warnings not to land, Commander John Adams (Leslie Nielsen) finds only Dr. Edward Morbius (Walter Pidgeon), his daughter Altaira (Anne Francis) and their robot, Robby. The rest of the crew was destroyed by an unseen force, and now that force is stirring again, bound up with the secrets of the long-dead civilization that once ruled the planet.

Reimagining Shakespeare's The Tempest in deep space, Forbidden Planet raised the bar for the genre with its landmark designs, lavish sets, the unforgettable Robby the Robot and Bebe and Louis Barron's pioneering, all-electronic score. The Austin Chronicle calls it "one of the great science-fiction films of all time." Arrow's brand-new 4K restoration presents it for the first time in its original 2.55:1 aspect ratio with its theatrical Perspecta stereo soundtrack.

Limited Edition with a double-sided fold-out poster, reversible sleeve and collectors' booklet.
