For Artur Schnabel [CD]

Jenny Lin – For Artur Schnabel [CD]

Pianist Jenny Lin presents a set of newly commissioned works honoring Artur Schnabel. The composers don't imitate him; some draw on Schnabel's own compositions, others respond to Schnabel the pianist, his recordings, repertoire and sound, so the album becomes a collection of personal tributes.

Pieces include Fragment of Collective Memory, Chorale Prelude on "Vom Tode" and 33 Fragments from LVB (Homage to Artur Schnabel), each a living response to the piano tradition he helped define. On CD from Sono Luminus.
