Fool's Mate [LP]

Peter Hammill - Fool's Mate [LP]

Fool's Mate is Peter Hammill's first solo album, released in 1971 while he was still fronting Van der Graaf Generator. Built from songs he had written in the band's earliest days, it is looser and more melodic than VdGG's heavier epics, with bandmates and friends including Robert Fripp helping out on tracks like "Imperial Zeppelin", "Vision" and "The Birds". It remains one of the warmest entry points into Hammill's long and singular catalogue.

This edition is pressed on 180-gram black vinyl as a UK import, presenting all twelve songs of the original album on a single LP.
