Echoes of the Forest - Waldszenen & Clarinet Concerto [CD]

Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra – Echoes of the Forest - Waldszenen & Clarinet Concerto [CD]

"The piano is becoming too confining for me," Robert Schumann once lamented. Composer and arranger Andreas N. Tarkmann answers him with chamber-orchestra versions of two Schumann works: the piano cycle Waldszenen, Op. 82, glowing in new colors, and the Violin Concerto in D minor, reimagined as a clarinet concerto.

Belgian clarinetist Roeland Hendrikx, known for his warm tone, performs with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra under Vilmantas Kaliunas. Tarkmann's own miniature September for clarinet and strings closes the program. On CD from Coviello Classics.

Genre: Classical, Orchestral, Romantic.
