Cloch 's Claí [CD]

Trá Pháidín – Cloch 's Claí [CD]

Trá Pháidín are a shifting collective of Irish musicians spread across Conamara, Cork, Kerry, Offaly, Sligo and Waterford, making ambitious original Gaelic music that pulls in traditional Irish absurdity, jazz, folk and krautrock. Cloch 's Claí (Stone & Wall), their first record for World of Echo, uses the dry-stone wall as a metaphor, each of its ten tracks a stone in the wall.

Inspired by Myles na gCopaleen's An Béal Bocht, it takes a satirical look at Ireland's relationship with its native tongue and the Gaeltacht, mixing traditional improvisation with krautrock, free jazz, post-rock, minimalism and drone. CD edition.
