Trust Records announces their inaugural release in partnership with Bad Brains and produced in cooperation with the band: the legendary but never-before-released first studio recording, Are You Ready: The First Studio Recording (Inner Ear - March 1979). Mixed for release in 2026 by Ian MacKaye (Fugazi, Minor Threat), these six songs set the underground music world on fire in 1979 as word of their ferocity spread like wildfire.

Captured in a single frantic hour at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, VA in March 1979, the six-song session represents the earliest known studio recordings of Bad Brains and includes the first studio recording of "Pay to Cum." Features a double-sided insert with rarely seen images from the Bad Brains archive, plus liner notes by Alec MacKaye.

Now, over 40 years later with heavy music back in the zeitgeist via bands like Turnstile, new fans of hardcore punk and longtime fans of the legendary D.C. punk scene alike will be able to hear the first document by a band that struck like lightning.
