Suzanne Vega - An Evening of New York Songs and Stories [CD]
An Evening of New York Songs and Stories is a live album by Suzanne Vega, recorded at New York's Café Carlyle in early 2019 and released in 2020. Vega revisits the most New York-centric songs in her catalogue, backed by guitarist Gerry Leonard, bassist Jeff Allen and keyboardist Jamie Edwards.
The set mixes favourites such as 'Luka' and 'Tom's Diner' with deeper cuts like 'Frank and Ava' and 'Ludlow Street', plus 'New York Is My Destination' from her Carson McCullers play and a cover of Lou Reed's 'Walk on the Wild Side'. Produced by Leonard, mixed by Kevin Killen and mastered by Bob Ludwig. This edition is a CD in a softpak sleeve.
